Espace's theatre and music season finished with joyous madness on Saturday night. Adults and children laughed heartily at the antics of Los Excéntricos - Marceline, Sylvestre and Zaza - in "Rapsodia in clown". Sylvestre dances on three legs! Marceline is the girl and Zaza plays the violin and the bandoneon. All three are clowns, jugglers, musicians and acrobats... They are eccentric, they play the bass-broom, the musical saw and a whole host of unlikely instruments. On Saturday night, on Espace's stage, the trio provoked hearty laughter from adults and children alike, who had turned out in hordes. Some of the audience had already fallen for the charms of Los Excéntricos during the Pamparina last summer, in a square shaded by trees. It was perhaps a little more cramped on an indoor stage than in the open air but the trio amazed an eclectic audience all the same and created a very cheery atmosphere. Watching Los Excéntricos does not require a great deal of brainpower. We play the game naturally and happily participate like children watching Punch and Judy! Marceline gets tangled up in electric leads and fights the vacuum cleaner, which devours her tousled hair and swallows up the skirts of her red diva dress… With the magnificent accompaniment of the musical saw, she throws herself into "La vie en rose" with gusto, applauded with peals of laughter! From tango to popular dance and rock to tango, the show is enchanting, punctuated with excellent moments such as the chase that ends up at the front of the stage on the head of an "assistant" with an extremely serious, wide-eyed expression. The three artists' parade under the poetic umbrella-shaped jet of water is the most beautiful of the closing sequences: simple and moving like the entire show, leaving us with the sweetness and finesse of surreal humour and its musical quality.
