With "Música Maestro" at the Sala Muntaner, the three members of the Los Excéntricos company offer a chamber circus experience which guarantees a surprise in every one of its numbers, taking advantage of some of the references from classic clown acts and bringing them right up to date. They are called Los Excéntricos which is no surprise, because the storyline running through their show is eccentricity, with a particular weakness for body parts: hair, head, feet, hands…"Música Maestro" is everything except music. It would be an attempt to make music, were it not that circumstances make it so very difficult. The two male clowns and one female make up a splendid trio who entertain the audience for an hour with a series of acts that form a programme full of little attractions. The most important aspect of this kind of performance is the ability to appeal to every kind of audience, especially if there is a big mix of age-groups. This is borne out by seeing the connection they achieve with a child of four or five and the uncontrollable roars of laughter from an older member of the audience. The language of Los Excéntricos is the universal language of the circus that puts characters who transcend the scope of reality and fiction in outrageous situations. And all done with barely any dialogue. Or at the very least, a dialogue of a few, unconnected, words which simply serve as a link between actions. With "Música Maestro", Los Excéntricos have managed to achieve a heart-warming reconciliation with the artof the café concert.
