Los excéntricos, Marceline, Zaza and Sylvestre put on performances full of colour, with a good dollop of zaniness and magical laughs. This week, Zaza, Marceline and Sylvestre, the three clowns who are Los Excéntricos (“The Execentrics”), got all dressed up (especially Marceline!) and went on tour in Saint-Julien-les-Rosiers in La Grand Combe, under the aegis of Cratère. Next week they are off to Alès, this time as part of the cultural week of this town, where they are certainly no strangers. The two new performances (Tuesday and Wednesday) cannot be missed. It is worth making the trip to watch Los Excéntricos even if only to hear Zaza's extraordinary, jubilant voice ring out uninhibitedly, full of mischief and scandal. This naughty trio are real clowns, true to the tradition of their forebears, who split their sides with laughter or wept uncontrollably in circus rings. Clowns version 2004, with great gags and props, but who also know just when to suddenly slip up and break out into their characteristic sweet laughter; musical madness inhabited by Sylvestre's automatons. And one has to say that Marceline, Sylvestre and Zaza just love to rock! Dressed up in yellow or green, check or stripes, with a tie several yards long and accessories that go with their shoes, they shake their hips and their impeccably combed hair all over the place. Los Excéntricos are first-rate musicians (violin, accordion, bass and musical saw…) who make the cascading notes twist and turn in the greatest expression of emotions, laughter and surprise. They are a whole different species of clown. They make you laugh and laugh a lot. Most of the time you stare with your eyes wide open. And at the end, you leave with your head in the clouds.
